This is a thread for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on clan promotions:

What are the benefits of a higher rank in the clan?
You get an extra 5 days of inactivity allowed (30 days for Gummy Shark; 35 days for Tiger Sharks; and 40 days for Hammerhead Sharks) if you don't mention your hiatus. You also get recognition of your accomplishments and the chance of getting promoted to an officer positions (Bull Sharks and Above). Officer ranks get authoritative powers within the clan and have access to SSI Officer threads here on the forum. CLICK HERE for more details on what each rank's roles.

How do I get promoted (Tiger Shark and Hammerhead Shark)?
Well if you're reading this then you're one step closer to getting promoted. First, CLICK HERE to be redirected to where you should ask for a promotion. Rank prerequisites are also listed in the same thread.

How do I become an officer (Bull Shark and Above)?
You first need to be a Hammerhead Shark to be promoted to Bull Shark. We reward members for being helpful and active in the clan with an officer position. Also, we prefer for all officers to be frequent forum users, or at least login once awhile. Mainly we go by a recommendation system for promotions, so an officer can vouch for someone and while the rest of us determine if he/she is worthy of a promotion.

Can I ask for a promotion to be an officer?
We'll consider it, if you truly believe you're officer material then message me or any other officer. Be sure to tell us why and what you've done to help the clan so far. There is no guarantee you will be promoted.

What are the rules and responsibilities of being an officer?
There is a specific thread in this forum that will become available to view once you become an officer regarding officer rules and responsibilities. Essentially, it is just to continue helping the clan and not to abuse your officer powers. *Keep in mind, you still have to follow the main rules like the rest of the clan.

How do I get promoted once I'm an officer (Great White Shark)?
We still go by a recommendation system, but we are much more selective and only Megalodons are allowed to recommend and debate on higher rank promotions. There is a limited number of Great White Shark positions available and their promotions are handled by only Megalodons. As of now, no one will be promoted to Great White Shark.

Can I be a Megalodon?
No.

Will there ever be a promotion to Megalodon available in the future?
No.

Why no more Megalodons?
Stop asking Megalodon questions. We are the few and the only and the last Megalodons.

What is a Ghost Shark, and why do I never see them in-game?
From time to time, it becomes necessary to step away from the game for an extended period of time, and this is not just due to boredom. These sharks have a legitimate need to be away and have discussed with officers. For the time being, they have been given the rank of Ghost Shark and have had their place in the clan reserved. These cases are dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

What is a Whale Shark?
Whale Sharks have earned this honorary title through a long period of service to the clan. They are veterans of the clan and have the power to recruit as necessary. However, they are not officers, and are not entitled to such powers. However, due to their veteran status, any Whale Shark can request a promotion to Bull Shark, provided they meet the requirements.

If you have anymore questions, then feel free to ask them here and I'll try my best to answer them.

QuoteSo, is that a hard "No" on the Megladon thing, or is there still some hope?

In all seriousness, thanks for the FAQs, I am sure they will help answer many questions (including several I have had personally).

I would say that's a hard NO. The stone-cold killer NO.

Right now Megalodons are our "hall of fame" and the highest you can rise is Great White. Not that it's simple mind you. Great Whites have very similar rights to Megalodons and should be treated as our leaders.

I guess the only way we would see a new Megalodon is when most of them retire. And let's be rational here, how long will Warframe live?

Bare in mind I'm incredibly old, so either my post will become free or my eldest son will accede. I know how much the Americans love the monarchies of the world so unsure what happens in the event of my demise.

The general consensus is that we have to do a full investigation and a coroner report.  Then we have 4 options, and a cage fight to the death.

Recently I've had a chat with my boss about a similar topic...the Peter Principle

Edit: added a pic, that's it in a nutshell

QuoteQuestion is, is there any way ayu can "help" him?

PETER PRINCIPLE: I found this very interesting and have told those in my profession about your model.  There has always been the contention that someone will rise to their highest level of incompetence.  My question about the model would be this.  What if someone hits their levels of 'success', got promoted, but did so on the coattails of someone higher up?  Thus, they may not have had success in the work in front of them, but did advance to their next level of aspiration anyway.

dat post on a 1 year old thread tho.

I don't think that the Peter Principle really applies to positions where your "boss" has no reason to fire you. For normal businesses, you'd be fired because you're basically a waste of money, or there are people who'd be better at your position. In SSI which is online, casual, and "staff" is unpaid, there isn't any reason to kick/demote officers unless they're belligerent or something, or they pretty much choose to not do stuff. Officers who don't do anything get demoted to Whale Shark if they're fine with that, but they can be re-promoted just by asking.

It may apply if we had "too many" Great Whites so they'd be demoted so some Bull Shark which does more gets promoted, but that's not the case, and I doubt it will be. Everything is potentially prone to people sucking up to higher-ups for a promotion, to be honest.

Erebus, the model is exactly that and assume a perfect world as do most like it.  There are ones similar to the one posted in various fields, but the particular Peter Principle was right to the point.  There probably are major studies done on all of the various factors that might impact the model;  assuming one believes it in the first place, or is trying to disprove it.  The thread was way old, but a friend of mine and I were talking about levels of incompetence in our profession, and the model came to mind.  Most people likely never hit their highest level of incompetence for whatever reason;  no place to be promoted, happy in their current position, etc. This had nothing to do with the clan, or leadership.
