Oi all!

Im gonna buy a new PC soon (soon like things in WF soon )

Anyway I know lots of you knows the PC hardware better then me.
What do you think of this configuration:

1)
PROC: Intel Core i3-4160 3.60GHz, 3MB, s1150, Haswell
CPU: Intel 1150 CERTIFIED CPU FAN & HEATSINK
RAM: 1x4GB DDR3 1600MHz, PC6400
GPU : nVidia GeForce GTX650 2GB GDDR5

2)
PROC: AMD CPU Desktop X2 4020 3.4GHz, Socket FM2
CPU cooling : AMD FM2 CERTIFIED CPU FAN & HEATSINK
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz, PC6400
GPU : AMD Radeon R7 260X 2GB DDR5, DX11

3)
PROC : Intel Core i3-4160 3.60GHz, 3MB, s1150, Haswell
CPU cooling : Intel 1150 CERTIFIED CPU FAN & HEATSINK
RAM: 1x8GB DDR3 1600MHz, PC6400
GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX750Ti 2GB GDDR5

There is price difference and I know that last one should be best. Also what do you all think about them new ATI GPU (R7 260X and so on)? And is it better to get Nvidia b/c I hear they got better software.

And what GPU is better GeForce GTX650 2GB GDDR5 / AMD Radeon R7 260X 2GB DDR5 / nVidia GeForce GTX750Ti 2GB GDDR5 for gaming?

And PROC AMD or Intel?
Intel Core i3-4160 3.60GHz, 3MB, s1150, Haswell
AMD CPU Desktop X2 4020 3.4GHz, Socket FM2

Thanks for all your feedback

i think that an i3 is not a "good" gaming CPU. I would go for at least an i5 Processor.
8GB of RAM is on the bottom low end of what you should get if you get yourself a new PC
I recommend 16GB of RAM.

I also think the GTX750Ti would be a good choice.

I would always go for the maximum on building a new PC.
But since i am going big, if i am building a new PC there might be others better suited to give insight here.

Just for your info, my current Setup:

Proc: i7 4930K
RAM: 32 GB DDR3
GPU: GTX 780 Ti
Cooling: Complete Watercooled System

I would also mention that The R9 gfx cards are dropping in price. You do need to shop around though as the card i have is double the price in some places (inc Amazon).

i7 processors are expensive, it's not an option for most gamers on a budget. compared to the Atom processor GG currently has it's all gonna look good! (Warframe probably looks like Minecraft to him)

Multitasking Warframe with browsers etc 8GB should be enough. I would get a motherboard with room to expand on it.

If I had to choose between the ones above then I would choose the 3rd, but it would depend on more than the specs you give there and also the costs.

For a fast machine I would be looking at a SSD drive for boot and common programs. That makes a difference.

Computers are like cars. No matter what you have you want more. Money is the question usually. Money and need.

The nicest computer I ever made was for a customer who had no spend limit, and wanted something to use excel on. I cried when I installed it for him. Not even Solitaire.......

...

The struggle is real
Minecraft looks better I think

But yeah I would love to get good PC like Soc said. But I got money limit (I work for peanuts )

choice no.3 for me.
Personally i'd suggest getting the high end nVidia which is GTX x60 and above but they're really costly and unstable sometimes.
Like posts above, i3 isn't good enough and I dont have much knowledge on AMD so I cant offer much on that topic

theres a realy good article on intel cpu's http://www.techspot.com/r ... core-i3-vs-i5-vs-i7/

currently i wouldnt go for an AMD cpu, they are slow, in comparison cheaper but lack processing power which will be sorely missed, even for basic tasks like zip or rar archives or vitual machines .

My last AMD cpu was an Athlon XP 3200+, I admit a long time ago, but since the C2Duos Intel cpu's blow AMD out of the water. Have you considered going for Xeon cpu's they are made for servers but fit perfectly on 1150 boards. usually 30% are cheaper than their i counterpart but have same processing power and have no integrated gfx. i wish i could permanently smash that Iris HD hocus-pocus.

16GB of Ram is overkill, theres currently no need for so much, unless you want to are compiling huge archives or trying to squeeze your OS into the RAM, cut videos but for that you need a stack of SSD's. 4-8 is more than enough. if you build the pc yourself see that it has 2 Ram's installed.

As for gfx the radion cards offer good bang for the buck especially on the lower price spectrum but the drivers do sometimes like to crash, and they can get really loud, unless you have a passive cooler, which is not recomended for gaming...

I'm currently playing on my trusty 27" Imac it has a NV GT 750M (about 60% power of a regular gtx750), I can't go all out on it but it does reach 60fps on medium to high settings, so yey

QuoteQuestion is, is there any way ayu can "help" him?

Usually, I use a benchmark chart linked to the lowest price (+ship) I can find on ebay or other e-commerce.

Might be a bit late but...
what are you using the computer for...
I mean if it's just some casual gaming, you don't need to go so high in price..
Hell I'm running Warframe on lowest setting on a Geforce 9800 GT.... >__>
as long as it runs I don't mind it, but having a general input as what you need the computer for will help a lot.

Planning to play any high end games?
Because generally you can get some cheap part that's ~2 years old and can run most stuff on high settings without much problem.
Altho I do upgrade my comp once every 4 year to keep up with some games that I want to play.
Too bad no PC games are like WOW must play for me atm so I been holding off upgrading hence the 9800 xD

Well my new PC is pretty end game and yet, i had problems with newest CoD and even AC Unity is kinda lagy (i know, optimalization errors mostly, due to the lack of work ubisoft did before release). But atleast WF works fine even in voids, but my GPU (zotac (geforce) gtx 970) temperature is going pretty high up when i am longer in T4 voids (explosions with nova's mp) xD

Just Darth Reaper. Other 4499 aren't significant.

I think all zotac 970 have overheating problems. I read they go 10ºC hotter than other manufactures. If you want some premade builds you can always check https://pcpartpicker.com/ ... . The only problem with that page is that most of the sellers dont ship to EU, so you may need to find someplace to buy those parts
