I am looking at this huge array of sale games but I find most indie titles to be just bad games (I have bought many in the past). Anything I am truly missing?

Oh, and I don't think I want to hear about Early Access as the few I have had in the past seem to be abandoned with bugs throughout. They should really be taken into a backroom of the Steam store and only explored by masochists.

I've so far only bought Legend of Grimrock II as the first one was so good. But I haven't played it as is the tradition of Steam Sale games.

Wolfenstine or Crysis 2 isn't a bad choice

Wolfenstein: The New Order was something I considered actually.

I have the Crysis series and have never played it, the bit I did play was like Halo and that game just 'feels' bad like I am playing in a jelly suit. I may dig it out one day though

I can really recommend you the new Wolfenstein, in this godforsaken era of DLC's, pre-orders and early access New Order is a real pearl.

It's been a long time since i played a game that i felt was finished and i had fun shooting the nazi robots.

Some of the indies on sale are fun, but most of them end up pretty boring after you figure out the base tactic of survival. You could try This War of Mine thought, it's kinda hard, if repetitive.

As most games don't bother with demos these days i usually "trial" (arr...) a game before buying it and after that i ask myself "is this game worth ~20 dollars of fun?" Most indies can't keep me interested for longer than 2 hours, so they don't pass that test.

Still, keep in mind my currency sucks so i have to pay ~20$ even for a discounted game.

Not sure what you define by indie games, but I'd say chivalry medieval warfare, terraria and insurgency are pretty good games for their price.

The deals that stand out to me at the current daily and flash sales are "Castle Crashers" (Daily Deal) and "Rock of Ages" (Community Event Deal) both -90%. I had both already and can attest that they are both fun games.

I would suggest Darkest Dungeon if you like tactic and management of a squad
Gameplay is pretty rough until you build a more stablize team
The game also tend to screw you over with RNG, but personally I like the game and will probably grab it when it's cheaper lol

Darkest Dungeon looks nice and all but it's still early access. I like the management genre, especially set in old-rpg setting, but it's not getting any money from me until it's finished.

Elizu plays Starbound and recommended it to me but having read the reviews by people who put alot of hours into it I think i will pass.

Thanks for the rest of your suggestions. Sifting through them now.

On a side note Prison Architect is going cheap now, basic layout but great if you like management game, you can sink alot of hours into it in one go. and has lots of replayability.

Shadows of Mordor is great but that sale price is too high. I got it cheaper months ago.

And if Mirrors Edge shows up one more time above 50p I will seek and destroy Gaben. So old and it's brought out on every sale.

I, too wanted to buy wolfenstein, but as it stands ze german version is cut (symbols are changed and the english voiveacting is not accessable) I dont feel like messing with vpn or yarring them, so none of that great shooter. At least LP's on youtube are a available here, strange new world we are iving in...

I picked up both Metro 2033 & Last Light Redux a really intense game, although I picked up Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Prypiat on GoG. A little buggy and stubborn at times, but the atmosphere is intense. and overall worth a look.

Theres a free to download version of 'Stalker lost Alpha'. It started out as a major overhaul mod and ended up as a standalone version, but it will chew through your hardware really fast - it refuses to decently run on my imac, i only played it with maxed out settings at a friends, his rig had 2 titan black in sli back then.

I loved both of those game so much. Have you got a breathing mask fetish too? Radiation burns turn you on?

If I gift you Wolfenstein will you still be censored? Not sure how it works with regionalisation.

Original versions of games that are cut for one reason or another are regionlocked and can only be played via vpn.

In Germany it it prohibited to sell, advertise or anything related to the 3rd Reich and ideology. There were quite a few people buying it on various keystores, just to be locked out.

But thanks for offering

QuoteI loved both of those game so much. Have you got a breathing mask fetish too? Radiation burns turn you on?

Stalker was so frustratingly hard and at times random, much like DayZ is now, anomalies, chewed you up, overpowered bandits, stray bullets, radiation, this game hates the player, gamesaves easily broke = permadeath, looting for the necessary money was stressfull and at higher difficulties almost impossible.
The depicted humor and desolate post soviet technophile-isms and fit perfectly in those games. Great great change of pace to Team America type games.

QuoteOriginal versions of games that are cut for one reason or another are regionlocked and can only be played via vpn.

That's a publisher decision, normally games that have different version in certain territories can be traded and activated without vpn. There are very few games were the activation is region locked, the only other game I can think of at the top of my head was Saints Row 2.

However the regions that can trade with eachother get more and more restricted because people buy cheap keys from Eastern Europe (which were introduced to counter piracy). So in most cases you can buy or trade a key within the same territory or a ROW (rest of the world) key and activate it without a problem. But if you live in one of the censor happy countries, i.g. Australia, Germany and in some cases Japan, always check first.

Back to topic GOG also has summer sale at the moment till 21. June, always worth checking out. Oh, and the STALKER games are indeed awesome.
