As in the title - name 3 things we might or might not look into. Something, epic or thought-provoking, funny, sad, educational, whatever.

The only rule is that the three named phenomena should be of a different medium - so no 3 games, or 3 movies.

Also..
Then, shalt thou suggest three, no more, no less.

Three shalt be the number thou shalt suggest, and the number of the suggesting shalt be three. Four shalt thou not suggest, nor either suggesting two, excepting that thou then proceed to three.

Five is right out.

So let me start:

- Planescape Torment

Baldur's Gate style rpg from the classic era. I envy people who didn't play it. I'm going trough it again time to time, but it's not the same now that I know the ending and the plot-twists. It regularaly appears on the 'greatest crpgs of all times' lists, sometimes even on the top. The story, the mood and the writing is priceless.
Elderly Hive Dweller: [Upon The Nameless One telling her that he is an adventurer] "I'll bet ye've got all *sorts* o' barmy questions!" She mimics your heroic stance: "Greetin's, I have some questions... can ye tell me about this place? Who's the Lady o' Pain? I'm lookin' fer the Magic Girdle o' Swank Iron, have ye seen it? Do ye know where a portal ta the 2,817th Plane o' the Abyss might be? Do ye know where the Holy Flamin' Frost-Brand Gronk-Slayin' Vorpal Hammer o' Woundin' an' Returnin' an' Shootin'-Lightnin'-Out-Yer-Bum is?" She spits. "Dung, all o' it! Only gets ye in the Dead-Book! I ought ta kick ye in the shins fer even pesterin' a poor ol' woman about it all! Now go away an' leaves me in peace

- Death Note

Anime-people usually can suggest better titles if they know what you are into, but it's a failsafe bet if they have no clue. Enjoyable by all ages: Mistery and tension for the whole family, followed by talks filled with controversy. Too many people I know got their first impression of the genre from Pokemon, Dragonball and whatnot. I usually give them Death Note before they completely shut out a sizable part of the entertainment industry. It works.

- Malazan Book of the Fallen (Steven Erikson)

That's for those who didn't just enjoy Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones serieses, but also read the books and now looking for fantasy epics of similar mood and size. Gods, demigods, ancient powers, empires, countries, merchants, soldiers, average townsfolk, even some kubrows get equally important roles in the novel-series - that's an incredible feat itself. Not high-literature, but mightly entertaining. Also... I'm an e-book user, but I bet the printed version weights more than a Tolkien anthology with GoT on it. If Michael Bay ever finds it, it will occupy him for a decade at least.

Hmm... Let me give this a shot

- Quartz
Easily the best mineral, hands downs. With the chemical formula SiO2, quartz is the strongest common mineral with a Mohs hardness of 7. Quartz crystallizes late during magmatic eruptions, and is predominantly found in more silicic melts (rhyolite, not basalt). Furthermore, with the use of high precision instruments, it is possible to look at trace element zoning in the quartz crystals and deconstruct the temperature at which the mineral crystallized, as well and the crystallization history.

-Mass Effect (1-3)
Easily the best game, hands down. And before you ask, Liara all the way. Battle as Commander Shepherd of the Earth Alliance Navy alongside a crew of aliens and fellow humans as you attempt to defeat the incoming reapers, hell bent on wiping out humanity and every other sentient race within the galaxy. Choices you make will affect the entire outcome of the game, but it feels like it until the very end. With ever-evolving game play, use a combination of biotic (psychic) power, tech knowledge, and good old bullets to put down the greatest threat the galaxy has ever faced. Do you have what it takes to save the galaxy? How far will you go for your loved ones? Are you ready for Mass Effect: Andromeda?

-SAO (Sword Art Online)
Journey into the virtual world and join Kirito and other virtual players locked in a virtual world as they battle their way through the deadly SAO universe, hoping to one day win their freedom from the game, all the while trying to make the most of their virtual world. Kiritio is one of the strongest swordsman in the game, and along the way makes many friends (and a few enemies), as well as falling in love for the beautiful Asuna. A fun anime, though the later portion of the first series was lost to me, and I have yet to begin the newest season (stupid school!).

1. Currently Tigers kill more people in the world than we kill of them.

2. Portuguese Man-o-war is not a Jellyfish

3. Killer Whales are dolphins.

Think on that.

1. Mass Effect trilogy (games)

One of the most epic story driven scifi games. Can make you cry and your jaw drop in epic moments. Also every choice matters across all the 3 games.

2. Markiplier videos (youtube star)

Creates many let's play, mostly focusing on horror genre but occasionally does other as well. Very funny and good hearted person. (Quite hot as well )

3. Pratchett books

I personally really enjoy his books. Discworld is not as serious as LotR for example, but I wouldn't categorize it comedy either. It's its own world with rich and mind blowing ideas. Doesn't fit for everyone's tastes but I recommend to try them at least It's definitely unique world

Close, but what I really said was:
QuoteYou, me, friends, now.

Also, this only counts if you know where/when I said it...  Furthermore, what makes you think I have only one friend?

You're right, when you said it to me, it was with commas (it was in the music thread)! After all I'm still special, thank you! We may now continue to be friends!

Joke too much? xD

1)Dota 2 raised a total of 60 million dollars for valve, of which 25% (or 18 million dollars) went towards TI5, fifth annual championship of sorts, and the 1st place winners got $6,634,660.68

2)The largest animal that ever flew was Quetzalcoatlus which was the size of a giraffe and had a wingspan of 33 ft ( 10 meters for them non-muricans)

3)The largest land animal ever is Argentinosaurus measuring 90-130 feet and weighting around 50-90 tons

1. Mass Effect trilogy/ Metal Gear series

Do I really need to explain myself here?

2. Bethesda / Square Enix

Again, I think it's self explanatory

3. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline / The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

My 2 favourite books.

This is from the blurb of Ready Player One:
In the year 2044, reality is an ugly place. The only time teenage Wade Watts really feels alive is when he's jacked into the virtual utopia known as the OASIS. Wade's devoted his life to studying the puzzles hidden within this world's digital confines—puzzles that are based on their creator's obsession with the pop culture of decades past and that promise massive power and fortune to whoever can unlock them.

But when Wade stumbles upon the first clue, he finds himself beset by players willing to kill to take this ultimate prize. The race is on, and if Wade's going to survive, he'll have to win—and confront the real world he's always been so desperate to escape.

The Time Traveler's Wife is about a guy named Henry with a genetic disorder which causes him to time travel unpredictably, and about his wife, an artist, who has to cope with his frequent absences and dangerous experiences.

1- Iron Maiden:

My favorite heavy\prog metal band, not much to say here, just listen to one of their new epic song from their new album:

2- One Piece:

One Piece is a manga by Eichiiro Oda, and one of the most known mangas right now. It's story is about a pirate, Monkey D. Luffy, a boy which ate the Gum Gum Devil Fruit, and as such has become a rubber man so he can stretch/overextend his body. His dream is to find the legendary treasure known as One Piece, which is hidden in the sea known as Grand Line, a sea which only 1 man have sailed fully before.
This is one of the best mangas I've ever read, along with death note, which is mentioned above.

3- Bethesda

Once again Bethesda is on the list, that's how good its games are.

1. William Blake - Book of Urizen & Milton A Poem
What is now proved was once imagin'd http://www.blakearchive.o ... rg/

2. Herrmann Hesse - Beneath the Wheel & Narcissus and Goldmund
Germanists would love to GNU his archives if only evil Suhrkamp didn't own everything

3.Vladimir Nabokov - EVERYTHING
Lolita was so much fun to read, never knew how much the author could despise so much his protagonist

4. Bulgakov, Mikhail - Master and Margerita
priceless gem that was burnt, rewritten, censored, altered and republished decades later

Nope... You. Me. Friends. As soon as you remove the Metal Gear series (self-disclosure, never played it)

And as for ayu the breaker of rules... You had one job!

Quote1.The only rule [...] three named phenomena should be of a different medium
2.Then, shalt thou suggest three [...]
3.nor either suggesting two
Well I broke 3 different rules, does that count?
